Participants Wanted for Research Study on new Facilitating STEM for All Learners Certificate course:
· The course will open August 3, 2026, with enrollment allowed anytime through the end of the course.
· We will lightly facilitate through September 30, 2026.
· We suggest you allocate 1-2 hours per week during that time.
· The course should take approximately 10-12 hours to complete.
Successful completion of all elements including course evaluations by September 30 will result in a Certificate of Completion and a $250 stipend for eligible U.S. residents age 18 and up*.
All individuals can learn complex STEM topics. Learners in this course will explore how to bring a STEM For All lens and approach to their STEM Education to support a variety of learners. The course is especially designed for facilitators of secondary school level learners in STEM-specific programs. However, we have had ESL and support staff, 4-H Agents and volunteers, and elementary level teachers and facilitators as well.
This asynchronous, facilitated course will involve background readings and videos, discussions with facilitators and other course participants, and design or re-design of STEM lessons to incorporate authentic STEM activities and versions of multi-modal activities and assessments geared toward expanding your ability to serve all learners. In this round, we will also test a rubric for the final submitted lesson materials, but no particular score on the rubric beyond basic submission of a lesson plan is required to earn the Certificate of Completion.
All course materials are designed to be accessible for users who are blind/low vision as well as deaf or hard of hearing. The asynchronous format and multiple learning modes is designed to meet learning needs of a variety of thinking styles and physical needs.
